What is Blepharoplasty?

The look of a person can look tired, with dark circles under the eyes, giving the face an aged appearance, with this procedure you can improve the look with the resection of excess skin and removal of fat bags. It is an outpatient procedure, which can be performed under sedation or local anesthesia.

Why do eyelids age?

The eyelids are a complex structure from an anatomical point of view, having among other things the thinnest skin in the body. In addition, in the upper eyelids this skin covers structures that are very active during the day, especially the upper eyelids, muscles, ligaments, among others.

Why have eyelid surgery?

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty corrects excess skin by retracting or removing it. It also involves the treatment of deep structures, such as muscle, or the herniation of fat pads if present.

In the lower eyelid we find three changes over time the herniation of fat pads, skin laxity and dark circles, with lower eyelid surgery we correct the laxity and the treatment of fat pads, and with some special techniques we can treat the dark circles, which most of the time is solved with the application of #Hyaluronic Acid.

How is the surgery performed?

The surgery must be performed by certified personnel, who know the anatomy of the eyelids, prior to surgery an assessment is performed in which the alternatives are explained, to improve this area anatomy, the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or sedation, can be performed with laser or conventionally with scalpel, in PlasticSkin we have the Smart Xide Deka the ferrari of lasers, offering safety and excellent results.

What is the difference between conventional Blepharoplasty and Laser Blepharoplasty?

Through the use of laser for eyelid rejuvenation, we can perform the same technique that we perform with conventional blepharoplasty, when the case requires it, using this technology to be more precise in skin resection and in the treatment of deep structures, improving precision and also reducing bleeding, generating shorter and less uncomfortable recovery periods.

The laser is a unidirectional energy, which produces a controlled thermal damage, so we can make a precise cut and in turn the cauterization of blood vessels, reducing the appearance of bleeding and bruising in this procedure, speeding recovery, with very natural results.

We also have the option to treat in cases where skin laxity is not the most important thing to improve, by using the application of laser scanner type, generate a controlled thermal damage to biostimulate this area producing a retraction of the skin when we do not need to cut, performing this procedure more quickly and safely, offering an alternative to those patients who require it.

In addition, with laser technology, we can treat not only the eyelids in the same intervention, we can also improve periorbicular lines (goose bumps) and improve the entire quality of the skin in this area. Improving your look, it is also ideal to combine this treatment with complementary procedures, involving the elevation of the eyebrows if required and treatment with botulinum toxin, in the forehead, between the eyebrows, and periorbicular area, to renew your look in a comprehensive manner.
